Report exports
Choose useful output, export relevant findings and keep reports distinct from recovery backups.
Paid plan access#
Whole-site dashboard export requires paid access. Open a completed whole-site report and select Export. The window lets you select a format, scope and fields instead of downloading every finding indiscriminately.
Current-page reports also have popup Download Report controls. This download and whole-site dashboard export are separate workflows. Neither performs a new website check.
- Complete and open a whole-site scan.
- Select Export.
- Choose the file format and result scope.
- Choose fields and whether to group duplicate URLs.
- Download and open the file to confirm its contents.
Choose a format#
CSV and Excel are useful for sorting and assigning repair tasks. HTML gives a readable report in a browser; JSON provides structured data for a script or another workflow.
Use a format the recipient can work with. Structured report JSON is not necessarily a file that Linky can import as a backup.
| Format | Useful for |
|---|---|
| CSV | A simple spreadsheet table or task handover. |
| Excel workbook (.xlsx) | Reviewing findings in a workbook. |
| HTML page | Reading the report in a browser. |
| Open for PDF printing | Opening a printable report, then saving it as PDF through the browser. |
| JSON data | Processing structured findings elsewhere. |
Save a PDF#
Select Open for PDF printing in the export window. Linky opens a printable report in another tab rather than directly downloading a PDF file.
In that tab, open the browser Print command, such as Ctrl+P, choose Save as PDF and review the page preview. Adjust the print options where needed, then save the file. Keep the report’s date and selected scope with the handover.
Choose results and fields#
Available scopes include all results, problems, selected categories and the current filter and search. Choose deliberately: an export restricted to the current view is not a complete report of the crawl.
Fields include HTTP status, source pages, link text, response time, content type and redirect chains. Group duplicate URLs for destination rows with source context; use ungrouped output when individual occurrences matter.
Communicate scope#
Share the scan date, starting URL, selected cap and relevant exclusions with the file. Explain reached limits, incomplete scans or inaccessible sections so the recipient understands coverage.
Check private paths and query values before sharing. A useful handover includes enough evidence to locate and repair references without exposing unrelated information.
Keep backups separate#
Reports communicate findings. Export data in Settings creates a Linky backup of preferences, recent history and saved reports. Use that workflow for supported recovery or transfer.
Import data validates the backup format. Renaming a report to .json does not make it a backup. Keep an unedited backup and verify restored data before removing a profile.
