Use the popup for the page currently open in your browser. Use the dashboard to crawl a website, inspect full reports, reopen history or review Analytics. A page check and a whole-site crawl have different scopes, so start with the task you need to complete.
| Your task | Where to start | Instructions |
|---|---|---|
| Check a page you just edited | Popup: Scan this page | First scan |
| Find references across a website | Dashboard: Scan whole site | Whole-site scan |
| Understand a result | Category, status and source context | Result categories |
| Preserve or share findings | Saved scans, exports and backups | Settings and backups |
Start with one page
If you are new to Linky, begin with a published article or resource page whose links you recognize. This makes it easier to connect a result with the reference that needs an edit.
- Install and pin Linky in your desktop browser.
- Open the page, load the content you want to check and select Scan this page.
- Read the result categories and open important destinations manually.
- Fix the source reference, publish the edit and obtain another scan to verify it.
Move to a whole-site audit when the issue affects navigation, shared templates or several source pages. The whole-site instructions explain discovery, page limits and the Free demo.
Understand what a report tells you
A scan records what happened to the destinations it checked at that time. It does not automatically rewrite content, reproduce every JavaScript interaction or certify that every URL on a website was inspected. Review scope and access conditions before deciding how to repair a finding.
Results are stored locally in your browser profile. Scan history reopens recorded findings; Saved scans keeps selected snapshots; report exports support handovers; and backups preserve supported local data. These are separate workflows with different purposes.
