Privacy Policy
How the Linky website, extension, support and license services handle information.
Last updated:
The short version#
Linky runs locally in your browser. Scan history, saved reports and settings stay in your browser profile. Ordinary link scans do not upload your reports to a Linky account or cloud dashboard.
Checking links still connects to the websites being checked. Support messages, purchases and license validation also use external services. This policy covers the Linky extension, website and these related services. For privacy questions, contact pgbuilds.tech@gmail.com.
Scan data and browser permissions#
When you start a scan, Linky reads links and relevant page context. Results may include destination and source URLs, link text, HTTP statuses, redirects, missing anchors and response times. Recent scans, saved reports, settings and license state are stored using browser extension storage and IndexedDB.
Browser permissions allow Linky to inspect the pages you scan, check requests, keep local records and run its interface. You can review or remove those permissions in your browser. Requests to scanned websites expose normal connection information, such as your IP address, and may use browser-session information where the workflow requires it.
Website tools and preferences#
Our free online tools process the text you enter locally in your browser. They do not submit that text to a Linky server or scan external websites. The website remembers your chosen language in localStorage.
With your consent, the website uses Google Analytics 4 and Datafast to understand visits, pages viewed and interactions. These services may process IP addresses, browser and device details, referring pages and cookie identifiers. Analytics stays off until you allow it; change your choice in Analytics preferences in the footer. Text entered in our tools and contact messages is not sent as analytics events. Analytics inside the extension summarizes local scan activity. Hosting may keep technical logs for delivery and security.
Google Analytics cookies can last up to two years; Datafast visitor cookies up to one year and session cookies up to 30 minutes. Visits can renew these periods. Your analytics choice is saved locally for 180 days.
Support and feedback#
When you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address and message. Website contact forms use Web3Forms to deliver messages. The optional uninstall survey uses Google Forms; opening it connects to Google, and submitting it shares your answers and any email address you choose to include. It does not require sign-in or automatically collect your email address.
We use this information to answer questions, investigate problems and review feedback. Providing it is voluntary, but we need a reply address if you want a response. Please share only what is needed and avoid passwords, payment-card details or private scan reports.
Payments, licenses and service providers#
Lemon Squeezy handles purchases as merchant of record, including payment, tax and subscription information. Linky forms do not collect payment-card details. License activation and periodic checks send your license key and activation-related identifiers to the license service to confirm access. Purchase and license records may also be used for billing support.
Hosting and license providers, Web3Forms, Google Forms, our email provider and Lemon Squeezy process the information needed for their services. They do not receive your local scan history through ordinary audits. Information may also be disclosed where legally required. Providers may process data outside your country or the EEA; contact us for information about the applicable processing arrangements and transfer safeguards.
How long information is kept#
Local records remain until you delete them, they are replaced under history limits, or browser data is removed. Manage scans and settings in Linky or through your browser. Exported reports and backup files remain wherever you save them. We cannot remotely access or delete records stored only on your device.
Support messages are kept as long as needed to resolve the request and related follow-up. Purchase, license and security records are kept for active service administration and any applicable accounting, legal or dispute periods. Providers may retain their own records under their policies. Deleting local data or uninstalling Linky does not cancel a subscription.
Your choices and privacy rights#
Where the GDPR applies, we process purchase and license information to provide the service, legally required records to meet legal obligations, and support, feedback and security information for our legitimate interests in responding to you and maintaining a reliable service. Consent is requested separately where required; contacting support does not sign you up for marketing.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email pgbuilds.tech@gmail.com with enough detail to identify your request. We may need to verify your identity. GDPR requests are normally answered within one month, with notice of any lawful extension.
Security and updates#
Protect your browser profile and treat exported reports as potentially sensitive. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Contact us if you believe information associated with Linky has been exposed.
We update this page when the product or its data practices change. The date above identifies the current version, and we will provide additional notice where required.
